Hello my lovelies! I'm all moved into my dad's house in Kettering and have spent the week job hunting - how boring. These are the things that have kept me going this week!

Music - You by Dodie

Dodie Clark has been one of my favourite YouTubers for a long time. She is super cute and sings with such a soft tone, which is so soothing. Her new EP 'You' was released on the 11th of this month, and it's all I've been listening to this week. The EP's tracks range from light-hearted dittys (You, Would You Be So Kind) to slow sombre songs that seem to be based around Dodie's struggles with mental health (6/10, Secret For The Mad). Dodie's vocals on the tracks are delightful, and although I have been belting them out in the shower, I haven't quite got the same delicately beautiful sound. My favourite track is You. Its tale of heart-break and non functional love is paired with a upbeat track and wonderful harmonies. If you're a fan of the film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, you'll probably agree that You would fit perfectly on the soundtrack.

Book - Small Great Things by Jodie Picoult

Most of you will recognise the name Jodie Picoult as the writer of the best seller My Sisters Keeper. Her fictional books are incredibly popular, and her newest novel Small Great Things is set to be another hit. The book was recommended to me by my mum, a book worm like me, and I haven't been able to put it down. The book tells the tale of a African American nurse caught up in a court case due to a white supremacist claiming that she was the cause of his baby's death, after a routine

hospital procedure. Picoult deals with highly uncomfortable issues, letting us question our stance on race and prejudice. Small Great Things highlights many issues 21st century society faces, and reading this book shortly after the Neo-Nazi protests in Charlottesville, it seems to hit home hard.

2017/2018 Diary

For my 22nd birthday, Ollie's mum Linda, bought me a new 2017/2018 diary. I adore organisation, especially note taking and diary keeping, and have adopted one of my mums sayings - 'If it's not in the diary/calender, it's not happening!) With that in mind, I thought it was such a thoughtful gift. I have spent the week planning out my year, jotting down peoples birthdays, and thinking about future blog posts. (I'm that keen on being organised I already have blogs planned for October...too eager??) The diary, from Tesco, is a page per day diary, giving me tons of room for writing to do lists and the occasional doodle. The diary is a gorgeous turquoise/teal colour and it really stands out when it's in my bag or on my book shelf. Some people may find a diary a boring gift, but for an organisation freak like myself it's perfect.
